Introduction


According to Bill James, whose statistical analysis has revolutionized baseball, Minnie Minoso is the best baseball player who is eligible for induction into the Hall of Fame who has not been selected. Not only that, but he was clearly a better player than many already inducted. Unlike Pete Rose and Shoeless Joe Jackson, Minoso is not banned from Cooperstown. But he might as well be, based upon the reception he has received from the Hall of Fame's gate keepers.
